Spring Ahead

I thought I would try to brighten up an otherwise blah Wednesday. There’s snow in the forecast (which I’m not looking forward to), so I thought I’d post some images of fun things to come. I for one can’t wait!

What are you looking forward to this year?

My Own Private Library

Sometimes I like to think up all of the things I would like to have when The Husband and I move into our forever house. And one of those things is a library.  We’re both avid readers who love scouring book sales for hidden vintage treasures. So whenever I envision our future home, it always has some sort of library/den.  These are some of my inspirational images for that library:

And some of my favorite books from my collection to place in it:

What books would go into your library?

Five for Friday

Yay for Friday and short work weeks! This weekend will be a quiet and relaxing one.  The Husband is on a work trip and I’ll be spending some time at my parents house.  I’m looking forward to:

I don’t get to Target that often, so when I do make a trip there, I like to check out all the various items they have, whether it be fun snacks, knick-knacks or even those $1 bins for things you never needed but somehow can’t pass up.  😉

Jr. League meeting
This will be the first meeting where they let us know about the New Members project so I’m excited to learn more about it and get started.

This seems to be a recurring theme here but you know when you really love a particular item but don’t have a chance to get it that often?  There’s a place near my parents house that makes an amazing, fresh grandma pie, which will be dinner tonight!

I need lamps for our bedroom.  It’s only been almost two years since we moved in.  😉  But I’m looking for pretty and stylish lamps for the bedside tables.  They don’t have to match but I would like them to compliment each other.  Something along the lines of these:

Off to Homegoods I go!

Whole Foods
Again, not a place I get to that often (it’s near Target and I don’t love the parking situation) but when I do go, I love to look around and stock up on favorite treats – including their chocolate raisins!

Happy Friday!

It’s OK!

I’m linking up again with Amber and Neely for It’s OK Thursday!

It’s OK:
To be happy that Bethenny Ever After is back on the air
To sometimes feel a bit lazy and just want to sit on the couch and read instead of going out
To have eaten out all weekend and feel the need to detox this week  😉
That I’ve been neglecting the gym for my Bar Method classes
To want to keep re-decorating/updating our home!
That I like to eat Nutella straight out of the jar
To be excited for the special edition of Domino coming out next month
That I bought supplies for a project on Sunday and have yet to start it
To be happy to start orchestra rehearsals again tonight but not look forward to the commute
What’s OK with you today?

Happy Birthday Mr. President

We had such a great long weekend! The Husband and I spent President’s Day in the city and got in a bit of history while there.

Our first stop was the New York Historical Society. I’ve never been here before but have wanted to go for a while. We saw various exhibits including one on the Revolution as well as portrait exhibits depicting different time periods in the city’s history.

After the museum, we made our way down to Union Square where we had a nice lunch at Pete’s Tavern. They claim to be the oldest continuously-operating tavern in the city, dating back from 1864. This is the place where O. Henry came to write The Gift of the Magi amongst other stories.

We took a stroll down to SoHo to do some shopping and topped the day off with a latte from one of my favorite spots, Dean & Deluca.

A perfect day. 🙂

Five for Friday

Happy Friday – we finally made it!  Today, I’m looking forward to the following:

3 Day Weekend!

I love when we have an extra day.  This gives me more time to relax and get things done, as well as have a little more fun.

Dinner on Saturday night

We’re taking my parents to a barbeque restaurant near us called Q – should be a good time.

NY Historical Society

I can’t believe I’ve never been here but I’m looking forward to going with The Husband on Monday and then just walking around the city.

I wasn’t able to play in the last concert, so rehearsals for the next one are starting up again this coming week.

It’s my Friday morning treat so I’m looking forward to a nice latte.

Happy Friday!

It’s OK!

I’m linking up with Amber and Neely for It’s OK Thursday!

It’s OK:

That I didn’t get to the gym as much as usual this week

That I have “white coat syndrome” at the doctor’s office no matter how hard I try to control it

To watch a marathon of Real Housewives reunion shows

To wish today was Friday

That I’m glad I don’t have to trek into the city for orchestra rehearsal tonight

To be thinking ahead to summer and pre-order pink sandals!

To want something and be excited about the possibilities yet really scared at the same time

To get pizza for dinner because I don’t feel like cooking

What’s OK with you today?
