We had such a great long weekend! The Husband and I spent President’s Day in the city and got in a bit of history while there.
Our first stop was the New York Historical Society. I’ve never been here before but have wanted to go for a while. We saw various exhibits including one on the Revolution as well as portrait exhibits depicting different time periods in the city’s history.
After the museum, we made our way down to Union Square where we had a nice lunch at Pete’s Tavern. They claim to be the oldest continuously-operating tavern in the city, dating back from 1864. This is the place where O. Henry came to write The Gift of the Magi amongst other stories.
We took a stroll down to SoHo to do some shopping and topped the day off with a latte from one of my favorite spots, Dean & Deluca.
A perfect day. 🙂
