Just for fun, The Husband and I have been attending open houses in our area. We’re not at the point of buying a house right now, but it’s nice to be able to see what’s out there and what you get for the money. Since we live in one of the most expensive counties in the country (fantastic), we’ve found that you don’t get much! 😉
I think we have a good plan for when we’re ready to move on from our co-op and buy a house. Hopefully by the time we’re really serious about it, prices will be a bit more stable and our dollar will go farther. And it’s not just the house you need to think about, it’s the neighborhood, schools, taxes, etc.
And The Husband likes to make fun of me because he says I have a laundry list of things I want in a home. Now, I know that improvements can be made and things can be changed. But the bones and structure of the house are really important. Oh and central air conditioning! Have I mentioned I don’t do well in the heat?? So if the home we buy does not have central a/c, that will be the first improvement we make, as soon as we move in. And I’m not kidding. 🙂
What’s on your list of things you want/wanted in your house?

For the last two summers, The Husband and I have taken trips to Europe. 2010 was our honeymoon to Italy, which was absolutely amazing – and I can’t wait for the day we get to go back! Last summer we went to Paris and London, which was also a fantastic time!
We’re thinking of doing something a bit more low key this summer. I’d like to visit Montreal, as it seems to be a very European-like city with a lot of cultural and historical activities, as well as a laid-back vibe. We have no plans set in stone as of yet so for now, I’ll just do some research and dream of lazy days on vacation.
Do you have any fun vacation plans?

Wow – what a great few days of weather we’ve been having! It’s really energizing to be in the fresh air with beautiful flowers and trees blooming all around you. It makes me want to grab an iced coffee, a good book and sit in the park for a few hours.
Here’s hoping the beautiful weather trend continues! Happy Spring!

Happy Friday! This week I’m looking forward to the following:
Dinner with the girls
It’s always fun to go out with friends, laugh and catch up. We’re trying a new restaurant I’ve been looking forward to.
I haven’t had one since Dec. so my hair is getting a little ridiculous. I need it trimmed, layered and thinned out!
This weekend is supposed to be in the 70’s so The Husband and I are looking forward to taking a nice walk around our neighborhood
We’re finalizing our new member project tag sale, which is coming up in about a month. So I’m looking forward to planning and seeing it all come together.
Getting my watch
I’ve said that one of my goals was to buy myself a Cartier watch. I’ve been saving towards it (to make the purchase even more special) and I am picking it up this weekend. I am so excited!
Have a great weekend! 🙂
I’m in the midst of reading a book called Rules of Civility by Amor Towles. So far I’m really liking it, as it takes me on a journey to 1930’s New York.
One thing mentioned in the beginning of the book was the 1960’s Many Are Called photography exhibit and subsequent book by Walker Evans. This was a series of candid photographs he took on the subway system in the 1930’s.
I always find imagery such as this fascinating – wondering what the stories and backgrounds are of each of these seemingly everyday, nondescript people riding the subway. Where are they going? Where are they coming from? This is something I often wonder as I ride the subway and am seated across from someone.
I’ve found images from this series online and thought I’d post some that intrigue me.
I’ll let you know how I liked the book once I’m finished. 🙂

I know I’ve written about Domino Magazine before but we’re getting very close now to the debut of the special edition of Domino, which hits newsstands April 17!
This was just such a fun magazine that didn’t take itself too seriously and presented really well-thought out, interesting spaces. And made you feel like you could create similar spaces. I’m looking forward to grabbing a copy of the magazine. I’m certain it will inspire me through many decorating projects in my current and future spaces.
If you can’t wait until April 17th, you can check out the following links for updates:

We’ve made it to the middle of the week! Easter is almost here and if you’re like me, that also means Easter candy! I can’t help my raging sweet tooth, and am craving any and all of these treats this week:
