A Splendid Fourth

Happy Friday! I hope everyone in the US had a very happy 4th of July. We spent the day doing some outdoor activities. But before we did, I just had to watch one of my favorite all-time movies, Yankee Doodle Dandy (very apropos for the 4th). It stars James Cagney as musical composer and star George M. Cohan. If you’ve never seen it, I highly recommend it.
A friend of ours works at Philipsburg Manor in Tarrytown, NY and got us tickets for their Pirates on the Hudson event. It was geared mainly for kids, but it was fun nonetheless and something different to do on the 4th.
We then walked around town and had a really nice dinner at Tarry Tavern. And then it was time for the fireworks.  We made our way down to the waterfront, right on the Hudson River and saw a really nice display along with throngs of others enjoying the evening’s festivities.
All in all, it was a great day. Have a nice weekend!
