The ladies behind Kate Spade are out with a new book called Kate Spade New York: Things We Love. It’s a book celebrating the 20th anniversary of the brand and features inspiration from the past two decades.
I can’t believe Kate Spade has been around for 20 years. I remember those first fabric bags with the small black label. Now the brand has evolved into a true lifestyle brand. I love their mix of old and new, whimsy and glamour. This book will surely be finding a place on my coffee table very soon.
Happy anniversary and here’s to another 20 years!

One thing that happens when you’re staying home with an infant for most of the day (or at least to me), is that I really want to redecorate! I’m not talking a major overhaul, but I want to change things up a bit – such as incorporate new objects, pillows, books, etc. Here are some of the ideas I hope to implement.
I have a few books and other items on my coffee table, but would like a nice tray to hold some items and give the table a new life.
This tray from West Elm is great (and so inexpensive). I’m not sure if I should go for silver or gold.
I have a new affinity for elephants and I think a small white one is classic and charming.
I also can’t get enough of hardcover books and love how they decorate my rooms. Some of my new favorites are:
I hope to incorporate some of these ideas/items in the coming weeks. What do you want to makeover in your space?

Hello! I’m very excited because tomorrow night I will finally be venturing back into Manhattan after 3 very long months. My last time in the city was my orchestra concert back in October. After that, I just wasn’t comfortable traveling by myself in case something were to happen, and as I got closer to my due date, I just felt too big and uncomfortable to venture too far from my home.
But tomorrow night, I’m finally headed back to my favorite city in the world! We’re celebrating a friend’s birthday at a beer garden and my mother-in-law is coming over to watch Lady M.
I can’t wait to get dressed up and finally get back out on the town. Here’s to NYC! And if you’re a nerd like me, you’ll know that my title is a song quote from the Broadway show “Annie” which The Husband was kind enough to get me tickets to for Christmas. 🙂
Enjoy your weekend!

Wow – so once again, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Five for Friday. It’s time to get back into it, don’t you think? This week I’m looking forward to the following:
The Husband’s Birthday
His birthday is this Sunday so we’re having immediate family over that afternoon. We’re also going out tomorrow night to celebrate – should be a good time! And if that’s not enough, I’m trying my hand at making him peanut butter cookies from Martha Stewart’s cookie book. He sure is a lucky guy! 😉
My parents are coming over this morning and will watch Lady M for me as I go out and do some errands. I haven’t been out of the house since Tuesday (yikes!) so I’m really looking forward to this – as well as seeing my parents, of course!
We’re getting back into the swing of things next week and I have 2 committee meetings (as I’m on two separate ones). It will be good to get back to planning for our league events.
I have some writing projects in the pipeline and need to do some work this week to complete them as well as brainstorm ideas for upcoming ones.
I can’t believe it but Lady M will be one month old next Friday! In a way, it feels like she’s been here longer and in another respect, I can’t believe how the time has flown by. I’m excited to see where the next month takes us.
